What to Expect | Getting Started with CTC Mental Health Services

Step 1: Reach Out

You can start by calling our office or submitting your information through our secure Contact Us form. A member of our support team will reach out to you—usually within 24–48 hours—to schedule your intake.

You’ll be asked a few basic questions to help us:

If you’re seeking services for your child or teen, we’ll also ask about developmental history, current concerns, and preferences for involvement.

Intake and Scheduling

Step 2: Intake and Scheduling

Once we’ve identified the right provider for you or your family member, we’ll schedule your intake session. Initial assessments and therapy sessions are conducted in person to ensure the highest quality of care, unless telehealth is clinically appropriate or otherwise requested.

Before your first visit, we’ll send you a secure intake packet with:

Our team is happy to walk you through any part of this paperwork. We’ll also verify insurance coverage and discuss out-of-pocket costs if applicable.
Your First Appointment

Step 3: Your First Appointment

Your first session is about getting to know you—not rushing into a diagnosis or treatment plan. We’ll take time to:

At the end of the assessment, your clinician will provide a diagnosis if clinically appropriate. This diagnosis will be clearly explained to you and discussed as part of your care plan.

We’ll also collaborate with you to create a personalized treatment plan during this session, with goals that you choose based on what matters most to you. This ensures your care is focused, relevant, and empowering from the very beginning.

For children, the therapist may meet with caregivers first, then with the child, and sometimes together—depending on age and situation. For adults, we work collaboratively with you to establish trust and direction.

You are encouraged to ask questions, share what feels safe, and move at your own pace. This is your space.

Ongoing Sessions and Support

Step 4: Ongoing Sessions and Support

After your intake, your therapist or provider will recommend a plan for continuing care. This may include:
We believe in flexibility, transparency, and listening first. Your treatment plan may evolve over time—and that’s normal. We’ll check in with you regularly to adjust and ensure your care continues to support your goals.
