Anxiety Treatment
Evidence-Based Support for Overwhelming Worry, Panic, and Stress
Anxiety can feel like being constantly on edge, waiting for something bad to happen even when everything seems fine. It can impact your focus, sleep, relationships, and overall ability to enjoy life. At CTC Mental Health Services, we offer proven treatment for anxiety that helps children, teens, and adults regain calm, clarity, and control.
Whether you are struggling with racing thoughts, panic attacks, social anxiety, or general fear that won’t go away, we will meet you where you are and help you move forward with compassion and skill.
What Does Anxiety Feel Like?
Anxiety affects people in different ways. Some experience physical symptoms, while others feel trapped in cycles of overthinking or avoidance. Many clients tell us they’ve been “pushing through” for years, not realizing how much anxiety has shaped their daily life.
Common symptoms we treat include:
- Constant worry, fear, or tension
- Racing thoughts or inability to concentrate
- Panic attacks or fear of losing control
- Avoiding social situations or everyday tasks
- Irritability or restlessness
- Sleep disturbances, fatigue, or chronic stress
- Physical symptoms like chest tightness, rapid heartbeat, or stomach pain
- Difficulty making decisions or coping with uncertainty
Anxiety can be mild or intense, temporary or chronic. Whatever your experience, you deserve care that understands the depth of what you’re going through.
Types of Anxiety We Treat
We support clients experiencing a variety of anxiety-related conditions, including:
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
- Panic Disorder
- Social Anxiety Disorder
- Separation Anxiety (in children and teens)
- Anxiety with co-occurring conditions (ADHD, trauma, depression)
- Test or performance anxiety
- Stress-related disorders
- Phobias
Many of our clients don’t have a formal diagnosis when they come in. That’s perfectly okay. You do not need a label to deserve help.
How We Treat Anxiety
Our approach to anxiety is thoughtful, individualized, and grounded in research. We focus on helping you understand the root of your anxiety and teaching real-world tools to manage symptoms and improve daily functioning.
1. Therapy
You’ll be paired with a licensed therapist who understands how anxiety works and how to treat it effectively. Therapy may include:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to challenge negative thinking patterns
- Exposure-based therapy for phobias or panic symptoms
- Mindfulness and grounding techniques
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Somatic approaches to manage anxiety stored in the body
- Trauma-informed care when anxiety stems from past experiences
- Christian counseling or values-based therapy, if desired
We also help clients identify and reduce avoidance behaviors, understand their emotional triggers, and build coping skills that actually work.
2. Medication Management
For many, anxiety is rooted in brain chemistry that may benefit from medical support. Our prescribing psychologists provide medication consultations and monitoring when appropriate.
We will help you explore:
- Whether medication could help reduce your symptoms
- What options are available, including short-term or long-term use
- How to monitor effects and make adjustments over time
- How to integrate medication into a broader treatment plan
Our goal is always informed choice. We offer medication as one possible tool, never a requirement.
3. Family Support and Education
When anxiety affects children or teens, it often impacts the whole family. We provide Family Therapy, Parenting Classes, and ongoing education to help caregivers understand what anxiety is and how to support their child effectively.
We also help teens and young adults learn how to advocate for themselves, manage school stress, and navigate life transitions without shame or fear.
4. Skill-Building Through Community Support Services (CCSS)
For clients whose anxiety affects daily functioning or independence, our Community Support Services team offers coaching and case management to support goal-setting, self-regulation, and real-world coping strategies.
Inclusive, Affirming Anxiety Care
We believe anxiety should be treated in the context of the whole person. That includes your:
- Age and stage of life
- Cultural and religious background
- LGBTQ+ identity or gender experience
- Family dynamics and support system
- Personal values and worldview
Whether you’re seeking Christian counseling or LGBTQ+ affirming care, our therapists will meet you with compassion and cultural sensitivity.
For Children and Adolescents
We offer child-centered therapy that helps younger clients:
- Understand and name their feelings
- Reduce physical symptoms of anxiety
- Learn calming strategies through play, art, or talk
- Gain confidence in school, friendships, and family life
- Develop resilience through safe connection and positive reinforcement
We also involve caregivers as much as appropriate to support progress and consistency at home.
